Marble tile flooring creates a tasteful and subtle backdrop for an elegant mix of design elements.
Marble flooring and marble details such as fireplace surrounds and mantels add a rich, elegant touch to any space. Polished marble is usually prefered for formal style interiors and honed and tumbled marble is more suitable for contemporary interiors where a softer, warmer look is desired.
The flooring of honed marble tiles laid with very tight grout lines appears as one solid sheet of stone surface. Carefully chosen for its calm neutral colors and subtle veining this marble flooring creates a wonderful backdrop for a tasteful, eclectic mix of design elements from different periods without overpowering the space.
Marble Colors
Although marble is usually thought of as the milky white stone that elegantly lines museum floors, it is also available in several other striking and graceful colors and veining options. For you home remodeling project, choose the marble that will most satisfy your home design – something subtle yet beautiful, something striking and attention grabbing or something in between.

Marble is a metamorphic rock that forms when heat and pressure are applied to limestone or other carbonate rocks. When the limestone is very clean, the resultant marble is white and mostly featureless. Variations in marble, like color tones and veining, result from other sediments, like clay or silt, that were in the layers of the original sedimentary limestone rocks. Deposition of such sediments varies highly by geography and climate, so each region has something new and exciting to offer in terms of the marble that formed there so long ago.
